The WA EPA has recommended approval of Texan fracking company Black Mountain Energy’s Valhalla proposal in the Kimberley, but the final decision hasn't been made yet.

If it proceeds this proposal would involve drilling and fracking up to 20 wells in the heart of the Kimberley, a decision that would allow fracking in the Kimberley and make future projects much harder to stop, with long term impacts to Country, culture, community and our climate.

The Environmental Protection Authority’s (EPAs) recommendation now goes to the WA Environment minister Matthew Swinbourn, who has the power to stop this project from going ahead.
